We arrived at Thousand Torii Gates, one of the most popular attractions in Kyoto, at 7:45am after taking the Shinkansen from Osaka and a local line. We thought we would take the early train as the tourist places would be packed. However it was already busy.
Kannushi, a shinto priest, burning incense at a shrine. He was wearing funny clogs called asagutsu. We also saw two Miko shrine maiden who were working there.
